SUMEE! Content Rights and Submission Guidelines 2026

1. Rights and Ownership

  1. 1.1 Required rights. You confirm that the submitted product, files, artwork, metadata, title, description, links, and related materials are owned by you or that you have all rights, licenses, releases, and permissions required to submit, publish, and distribute them through SUMEE!.
  2. 1.2 No piracy. You must not submit pirated, stolen, leaked, cracked, bypassed, or unauthorized copies of apps, ROMs, games, themes, media, source code, artwork, music, trademarks, characters, brands, or other protected content.
  3. 1.3 Originality. Submissions should be your own work, your team's work, properly licensed work, public-domain work, or content you are otherwise legally authorized to use and distribute.
  4. 1.4 Third-party IP. You may submit content inspired by or containing assets from third-party intellectual property only if you personally have the legal authorization required for that use. You are responsible for proving that authorization if SUMEE! asks for it.
  5. 1.5 Creator responsibility. You remain responsible for all legal claims, takedown requests, ownership disputes, licensing conflicts, trademark conflicts, copyright conflicts, age-rating issues, and damages caused by your submission or by inaccurate rights statements.

2. SUMEE! Publishing Permission

  1. 2.1 Distribution permission. You grant SUMEE! a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, display, review, test, promote, publish, distribute, update, and remove the submitted content through SUMEE! digital channels.
  2. 2.2 Ownership stays with you. This permission does not transfer ownership of your original work to SUMEE!. You keep ownership of content you legally own, but you give SUMEE! the permissions needed to operate, review, promote, and distribute it.
  3. 2.3 Review discretion. SUMEE! may review, reject, request changes, pause, hide, unpublish, delete, or stop distributing any submission at any time for legal, safety, quality, age-rating, platform, policy, moderation, community, or operational reasons.

3. Content Rules

  1. 3.1 Themes must be general audience. Themes must be suitable for a general audience and may not include explicit sexual content, graphic violence, hate content, harassment, targeted abuse, illegal activity, malware, scams, or content designed to impersonate another creator.
  2. 3.2 Mature content disclosure. Apps, ROMs, and web games may include mature content only when the submission clearly declares it in the description, metadata, screenshots/artwork, or reviewer notes. Mature content must still be lawful and may be rejected or restricted by SUMEE!.
  3. 3.3 ROM legitimacy. ROM submissions must be legitimate content you are legally allowed to distribute, such as your own game, homebrew, public-domain software, or properly licensed content. Commercial game dumps, pirated ROMs, and unauthorized copies are not allowed.
  4. 3.4 Assets and media. Artwork, icons, screenshots, previews, music, sounds, fonts, names, characters, and brand elements must be created by you, licensed to you, public-domain, or otherwise legally authorized for the exact use you submit.
  5. 3.5 Safety. Submissions must not include malicious code, hidden tracking, credential theft, exploit payloads, deceptive links, automatic downloads, adult content hidden from reviewers, or misleading metadata.
  6. 3.6 Accurate metadata. You must provide accurate titles, descriptions, platform information, language, region, price request, age/content disclosures, and any notes needed for SUMEE! to review the submission correctly.

4. Enforcement

  1. 4.1 Approval is not legal certification. SUMEE! review does not guarantee that your submission is legally valid. Approval means SUMEE! accepted the submission for its platform at that time, based on the information available during review.
  2. 4.2 Takedowns and restrictions. If SUMEE! receives a credible complaint, takedown request, rights concern, platform concern, or safety concern, SUMEE! may remove or restrict the content without prior notice while reviewing the issue.
  3. 4.3 Account consequences. Repeated violations, false rights claims, piracy, abusive behavior, or attempts to bypass review may result in rejected submissions, hidden content, suspended developer accounts, and loss of access to developer tools.
  4. 4.4 Updates. SUMEE! may update these guidelines. Future submissions may require acceptance of newer terms before review or publication.

5. Technical Submission Specifications

  1. 5.1 Supported ROM platforms. SUMEE! currently accepts legitimate ROM submissions for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS / DSi, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 1, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PSP, and Nintendo 64.
  2. 5.2 ROM file formats. ROM uploads must match the selected platform and must use a supported extension: .gb, .gbc, .gba, .nds, .3ds, .cci, .cxi, .iso, .cso, .pbp, .nes, .sfc, .smc, .gen, .md, .n64, .z64, or .v64. ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, executable files, scripts, and installer packages are not accepted.
  3. 5.3 ROM authenticity checks. SUMEE! may inspect file headers, extension/platform consistency, file size, hashes, and metadata. Files that do not look like the selected platform, are too small, are archives, or contain executable/script content may be rejected automatically.
  4. 5.4 Theme formats. Theme submissions must be a valid .sumee or .json file. The file must parse as JSON and must not contain scripts, HTML, PHP, archives, executables, or hidden payloads.
  5. 5.5 Web app and web game links. Web apps and web games must provide a working launch URL using https://. Plain http://, local network addresses, localhost URLs, IP-only test URLs, temporary tunnel URLs, broken links, and pages that require private credentials are not accepted.
  6. 5.6 Web app behavior. Web apps should load in a normal mobile browser context, work on iPhone and iPad screen sizes, avoid unexpected downloads, avoid intrusive popups, and clearly disclose any account login or external service requirement in the submission notes.
  7. 5.7 Web game behavior. Web games should be playable from the submitted HTTPS URL, support touch controls or clearly documented controls, and avoid requiring browser features that are unavailable on iOS. If testing needs special instructions, include them in Notes.
  8. 5.8 Artwork requirements. Artwork URLs must use https:// and should point directly to a valid image. Uploaded artwork must be a valid image file such as PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP. SVG, HTML, scripts, archives, and executable files are not accepted as artwork.
  9. 5.9 Review notes. Use the Notes field for testing instructions, demo credentials made only for review, content warnings, age-rating details, platform-specific requirements, and anything the SUMEE! Team needs to verify the submission safely.
